Here’s what to expect when you start your lifelong journey as a Benildean.
We are excited to welcome you to De La Salle-College of Benilde! While we have successfully shifted to online learning through Virtual Benilde due to the pandemic, we are also gradually reopening the College through blended or hybrid limited face-to-face classes and limited in-person student activities. We have already secured our Safety Seal and Certification from the City of Manila and the Acknowledgment from the Commission on Higher Education (CHED).
All required course contact hours are delivered and facilitated online without requiring your physical presence on campus. The instructional delivery is done synchronously and asynchronously. Synchronous sessions use technology like video conferencing.
For whichever learning modality, courses are delivered and facilitated using BigSky Benilde, our official learning management system. You will be able to access BigSky Benilde as soon as you receive your login credentials. At the start of the term, the course syllabus and the other course instructions (e.g. Zoom links, first limited face-to-face schedule, etc.) will be posted or uploaded on the platform.
Courses during your first term of your first year will either be delivered using the face-to-face, blended or hybrid learning modality.
Since the blended and the hybrid modality have online components, you will manage with a standard desktop computer or laptop (with camera, speaker and microphone), any word processing tool, spreadsheet program, & presentation software, and reliable internet connection. There are courses, however, that require a little bit more because of its nature, and the list of specific course requirements will be posted in the SIS login page before the term starts (click on the enrollment button and specific course requirements).
Yes, the Cafeteria will be open at the Taft Campus, the AKIC Campus, Design and Arts Campus, and the Atrium@Benilde Campus.
Yes. There will be designated areas where students can wait such as the Greenway Square or the Library at the Br. Fidelis Leddy Center for Learning Resources (CLR).
If you would like to use the learning spaces at CLR, you need to reserve a seat two (2) days before your visit. CLR may allow walk-ins depending on the availability of learning spaces but it is best to make use of their seat reservation system. Seats are currently limited as we observe physical distancing guidelines.
Benilde provides transfer service using our e-jeeps to bona fide students and associates from one campus to another on a fixed schedule. We are reminded, however, to wear the school ID and practice minimum health protocols when riding the e-jeep.
The e-jeep departs every 5 minutes, regardless of occupancy. The e-jeep may also leave immediately when it reaches full seating capacity. Please bear in mind that arrivals and departures may be delayed by the traffic congestion in the area, and possible disruptions to schedule might occur due to adverse weather conditions.
Our Benilde Sports and Dormitory Complex is primarily for our athletes and scholars but some slots are open for enrolled students who wish to pay for accommodation in the Dormitory. Interested students may send their inquiries to student.residence@benilde.edu.ph.
There are also available condominiums or apartments for rent nearby that students can avail of.
First, we enjoin everyone to continue to observe personal safety practices such as wearing face masks, observing physical distancing, frequent handwashing, and hand hygiene. Everyone is required to undergo screening procedures prior to campus entry.
Students should Inform the College through the Center for Health and Medical Services (CHMS) by email at clinic@benile.edu.ph and copy furnish their respective Program Chairperson at any time before, during, and after the face-to-face classes and/or College activities should they:
Depending on the recommendation by the CHMS, the concerned student may have to take a Real-Time Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) test or a Rapid Antigen Test administered by a DOH accredited laboratory at his/her own cost. A student who was identified as a suspect while inside the campus may also be required to take a Rapid Antigen Test in the campus clinic administered by the CHMS or as evaluated by the College Physician.
Should a student contract COVID-19 anytime during the term/s of participation in limited face-to-face classes or online classes, he/she will be asked to submit a medical clearance prior to rejoining classes and/or participating in College activities.
Students who are on-campus can utilize the in-person clinic services listed below:
Among the services the Clinic provides online are:
