The Associates in Animation (AiA) Program is designed to provide students with a strong foundation in the essential processes of the animation pipeline. Through hands-on experience in industry-standard facilities and guidance from expert practitioners, the program immerses students in the technical and creative aspects of animation production. The mentor-apprentice approach, rooted in Benilde’s Learner-Centered educational philosophy, fosters practical skills, professional growth, and readiness for entry-level roles in the dynamic animation industry.
AiA helps students develop creativity, critical thinking, and storytelling skills. They will study drawing, design, and animation to create characters and backgrounds that are interesting and appealing. Students will explore diverse animation mediums, such as stop-motion, 2D, 3D, and Virtual Reality animation, as they develop the skills necessary to produce their own animation projects.
The program simulates a real animation studio within its laboratories, providing students with an environment that motivates them to learn, accelerates their skills development, and prepares them for professional opportunities. It culminates in a practicum or on-the-job training (OJT), where students gain real-world experience in the animation industry while developing a comprehensive portfolio showcasing their expertise and creative work.
